Income Safety Net Benefit – we can help you through times of need. This benefit covers illness or injury at any time, whether at work or not. The benefit covers up to $2,500 in any one calendar year.

Short-term loans – these loans are available to members in times of adversity, for a variety of socio-economic or medical reasons. Loans of up to $1,000 are available interest-free and can be paid back over 12 months.

Educational subsidies – if you have a child attending primary or secondary school, you are eligible to apply for a $500 Encouragement Award or a $250 Excellence Award. It’s easy to apply and these subsidies are available from The Fund every year, based on several criteria including commitment to schoolwork and family situation.

Accommodation assistance – available to members to help during a difficult period. The Fund can help to cover the cost of an accommodation bond, pay the rent or a utilities bill.

Funeral expenses – The Welfare Fund provides a benefit of up to $2,000 for yourself or your partner, to cover funeral expenses. Some peace of mind, at a time when the last thing you should be worrying about is the cost of a funeral and to get even greater coverage join The M Mortality Fund.

The Gap Fund – a new & exclusive way to help members of The Welfare Fund. We now help bridge the gap between your out of pocket expenses and what your Medical Fund or the government pays for medical services.
